SheHeroes Ep. 12: Carol Jenkins

Carol Jenkins, is an Emmy award-winning New York City journalist, and founding President of The Women's Media Center. She became a television reporter and journalist in the 1970's in part thanks to federal government mandating broadcast journalism industry to diversify with the onset of affirmative action. She comes from a family of journalists and is a staunch advocate for media by and about women, girls and people of color. In addition to developing media projects, she can be found writing and speaking about the media–as well as advising companies, organizations and individuals on their media needs.  Carol is currently hosting Black America for City Univerity of New York Television. The show features in-depth conversations that explores what it means to be Black in America. It profiles Black activists, academics, business leaders, sports figures, elected officials, artists, and writers to gauge this experience in a time of both turbulence and breakthroughs.
