It’s that time of year again. The holiday season is upon us and with it comes the plethora of media attacks on our unfortunate need to buy gifts for the Heroes and SheHeroes in our lives. If you’re anything like me you may be feeling slightly overwhelmed at the commercialism of it all and the serious lack of good empowering gifts out there in the big box stores we all usually end up shopping in.
It was that overwhelming feeling that made me think about all the great merchandise available through many of our favorite websites that not only offer strong empowering gifts for SheHeroes and Heroes, but are mainly women owned small businesses who could benefit and use your business a lot more than any of the big box stores in your neighborhood.
So what better way to do your Christmas shopping than buy purchasing gifts that will not only empower your SheHeroes but also empower some strong women owned small businesses?
Well here it is, the first annual SheHeroes Holiday Gift Guide!
We took a handful of our favorite websites and products to create the ultimate empowering gift guide just for our SheHeroes readers.
Our fabulous list of places to shop include,

dollhousecreation(at)gmail(dot)com
I just saw that we have to list our favorite…I love the handesome in pink onesies and the Think Geek shirts!
Didn’t see you had to put your favorite. My favorite would be ThinkGeek!
I just LOVE the “Forget Princess, Call Me President” Tee from handsomeinpink.com – as my 9 yr old daughter says, it’s full of awesomeness!
Oh I love Pigtail Pals’ shirts! Such a great alternative to all the scary kids clothing out there!
I, too, LOVE Pigtail Pals’ shirts. I also love the phrase, “Forget Princess, Call Me President”! HA! LOVE LOVE LOVE!
I love the Pretty Brainy t-shirt with the “I’m too Pretty Brainy not to do my homework” logo. The idea that you can be pretty AND smart is awesome! Why sacrifice one for the other when you can have both??
I love them all, but my daughter would really enjoy the New Moon magazine & the Think Geek shirts.
Oh wow, how I can pick a favorite! I love Pigtail Pals, I love the “Forget Princess, Call Me President” line, I’m very excited about the Super Tool Lula book, 7Wonderlicious is awesome, and I’m a huge fan of ThinkGeek. And I’m thrilled to learn about the Girls Can’t What? I guess I’ll go with Pigtail Pals, because of how amazing Melissa is, getting the message out, sharing her very funny kids, and making beautiful shirts for me to give my daughter instead of another pink cupcake thing.
I love ThinkGeek! I usually get at least a few items from them each Christmas. I really love the “Obey Gravity, It’s the Law” T-shirt.
This give away is wonderful! If I had to pick one
I would say the empowerment mirror is such a great idea, my favorite!
Hard to choose, though I do like the Pigtail Pals t-shirts!
I love this guide!! LOL I love “Girls Can’t what?”
This is fantastic – great work!
I love the “Forget Princess…” t-shirt. Being the president of my children’s school PTA I need one of those!
I love the girls can’t wait shirts. Thanks for letting me know about these stores.
There are just too many to choose from! I’ve long been a fan of New Moon but I think I have to pick the Girly Girl t-shirts form Handsome in Pink. What a cool gift list. Think I will share it with the grandmas even though they probably did their shopping in May.
Pigtail Pals is fantastic, both my son and daughter are getting one of their shirts for Christmas!
But I have to say, I really, really love the empowerment mirror. I have two teenage nieces and I would love to give them one!
I especially love the ” forget princess, call me president” tees. Great gift ideas!
The ThinkGeek shirts are my favorite gift idea
I really like the products from Pigtail Pals, especially the shirts. They are likeable because their styles and message also work for addressing the needs for boys/men who also have likes that cross the created gender lines.
I love that iTwixie.com is included in this fabulous list!
Have you seen all of the cool prizes that iTwixie gives away for being savvy about being Recyling, Reusing and Reducing (iTwixie’s Green Tween of the Month) and for girls who express themselves in empowering ways to other girls (iTwixie’s Blogger of the Month)? These are just two awards that iTwixie girls around the world look forward to nominating each other to get, plus, vote like crazy to help a girl win each month. Now, how cool is that?
PLUS, we’d love to offer up a FREE subscription to the empowering, live chat, iTwixie’s Twixing… let’s talk!
Thank you, She Heroes, for being such a wonderful supporter of GIRLPOWER!
We heart you!
I love the sundial ring from thinkgeek!
great suggestions… I especially love the ThinkGeek stuff.
Pigtail Pals is a personal favorite of mine!
HOW IS IT POSSIBLE THAT I JUST LEARNED OF HANDSOME IN PINK TODAY?! Oh well, better late than never… This is going to fill the void that Sticker Sisters left behind. My daughter & her friends thank you for this list!
I like the shirts from the girls can’t wait
I just learned about Handsome in Pink from your guide! Great ideas. I love the Rocket & Stars Gray & Pink Long Sleeved Tee for my Space Explorer. She would love that! She is always rolling her eyes at how everything in her age range is sparkles, glitter and sequins.
I hope I win, my brother wants a shirt so bad. I ♥ Thinkgeek! Always great for Christmas
@Rebecca–
I just checked out the iTwixie site, and can I just say the first thing I noticed is the rainbow logo at the top. A 7-color accurate rainbow. You know, with indigo. My 5 year old will really appreciate that. Her favorite thing in the world is rainbows and it really bothers her when clothes, decorations, even books skip colors or put them in the wrong order.
I really like the 7wonderlicious shirts!
Love that all of these gift resources are in one place and already see some of my favorites among them! Looking forward to exploring the resources that are new to me. Already can say that my favorite is New Moon Girls — connects girls with one another, with their own process of self-discovery regularly throughout the year!
I loved the ‘Girls Can’t What?’ website, especially the custom designed shirts option. I showed it to my daughter who proceeded to pick out designs for herself, her sister and both of her moms!
I am so glad that ThinkGeek has so may Doctor Who items! Now there’s a place for me do some shopping for my sister who absolutely adores DW.
Thanks!
great gift ideas!! Thanks
Hard to choose a favourite from this list. I’m a huge fan of Pigtail Pals and SuperTool Lula, but if I had to pick one, it would be Go Go Sports Girls. My son has one of the dolls and just loves it.
Love forget princess..call me president! There are So many things I love
So many things to love here…thank you for putting this list together.
